Helping with the St. George Ironman 2011

Two photos of the St. George Iron Man 2011. We feel it is important to be a part on the community in events that help promote areas of physical fitness. Both Sam and I helped at different aid stations, witnessing these tremendous athletes pushing their fitness to the limits. One athlete I visited with was a diabetic on an insulin pump who has taken charge of his life. He told me three years ago he would not have been able to even compete in such an event but now with modern technology and taking charge of his life his was competing in this Iron Man. The secret was taking charge of his limitations and building on top of those.

One of our 21 mile training runs

One of our recent training runs, we circled around Bloomington Trail, off to the Sun River freeway exit, out toward the new airport road, then took the River Road exit back into town. A beautiful ride, approximately 21 mile trip. We are loving the new road bikes.

This is what the view was on our ride to springdale

This was the view from our bikes during the ride to Springdale. Being our first long ride with these new bikes we spent a lot of time watching the pavement, missing the surroundings.

Ride from St. George to Hurricane

This was our first long ride on our new road bikes. We started around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday and rode to Hurricane, then to La Verkin and on up La Verkin twist to Virgin and on in to Springdale. The temp was in the low 80's, sunny. Very warm for our first ride.
